SMOOTH JAZZ NEW YORK CONCERTS

Smooth Jazz New York, New York City's premier live jazz concert promoter, has announced two star-studded smooth jazz Christmas shows in December at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City: "A Peter White Christmas with Mindi Abair & Rick Braun" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas with David Benoit." "Since New York is the birthplace of modern jazz, we're bringing some of the genre's finest acts home for the holidays," notes Sam Kimball, Marquee Concerts/Smooth Jazz New York co-founder. "And what better way to celebrate the season than with extraordinary artists performing classic holiday hits." On Saturday, December 4th at 7:30pm and 10pm, in his "A Peter White Christmas," White leads an all star lineup featuring Rick Braun and Mindi Abair, performing dazzling arrangements of holiday favorites. Over the past 16 years, White has kept smooth jazz fans worldwide enthralled by his spirited melodies, soulful grooves and inviting, instantly recognizable acoustic guitar tone. Always finding unique ways to bring his modern sensibilities to cherished pop classics, his seasonal renditions are sure to captivate. The following Saturday, December 11th at 7:30pm and 10pm, The David Benoit Quartet returns to New York for a special Peanuts-inspired holiday show, performing the classics from Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas." Over the past 25 years, composer and pianist David Benoit has been a passionate musical innovator committed to the exploration of many different art forms on the American landscape. His prolific output in the last decade includes several prominent Charlie Brown related projects including "Here's To You, Charlie Brown: 50 Great Years" and his star-studded "40 Years: A Charlie Brown Christmas." These memorable works reflect his lifelong passion for the music of Guaraldi, Peanuts' original composer, and solidify Benoit's role as his musical heir.
