Consumer research firm Packaged Facts has unveiled a groundbreaking report, CDs: Online Industry Insights powered by eBay Data: Annual Industry Overview 2006, that catalogs the $23.8 million in compact disc (CD) sales that took place on eBay.com in 2006. Based exclusively on primary eBay data, this report offers consumer goods marketers an unprecedented look at compact disc trends-including new and used CDs-and buying and selling insights provided by eBay, the world's largest global online marketplace with more than 241 million users worldwide. The report tunes marketers into the 3.8 million music CDs sold and examines sales based on multiple variables and brands. It also provides a play list of market opportunities, demand, and dynamics, enabling marketers to develop targeted promotion plans and explore possible
partnerships.

"The 20 terabytes of data that we draw our results from is a whole new level of market research," said Don Montuori, Vice President of Publishing at Packaged Facts. "Marketers can examine CD activity on eBay and extrapolate it to the whole industry in no time."

Produced in conjunction with DataUnison, the authorized and exclusive reseller of eBay's market data, reports in the Online Market Insights powered by eBay Data series provide annual overviews and quarterly profiles of eBay activity for consumer product categories and individual brands, with in-depth analysis and extensive tabular and graphic data on multinational sales generated through eBay.
